Description
Antique 19th Century Carved Wood Rose Scottish Black Forest Ink Well 200 Years Old Traquair. Damage noted
One leaf may be missing. There is a chip on the tip of one leaf. An amazing survival, none the less.
A true Scottish Antique (although it might have been carved in the Black Forest); inscribed with the title of a song from 1724 by Robert Crawford: “The Bush aboon (above) Traquair;” which refers to a Romantic tristing spot above Traquair House, the oldest continually inhabited house in Scotland.
